Life drawing classes are the best way to learn how to draw accurately and in proportion. A Tuesday evening class is held at the Bluecoat art centre, central Liverpool.

An all day Saturday class, first Saturday of each month. This class is ideal for both beginners and those seeking to develop their life work, whether drawing or painting. A mixed ability class where members learn from each other, as well as my individual tuition.

 

What will you learn?

Everyone finds it hard to draw the figure accurately without having a measuring system and this quickly leads to frustration and people often give up at this point.  I will teach you how to measure the figure correctly, using the well-established 'thumb & pencil' method. You can learn the method in a matter of a few hours, then it's practice. In my experience, people need around 18 hours of tuition, then you are able to work independently. Once you are comfortable with the measuring, you move on to working tonally, using charcoal. This is to prepare you for the painting process.

Also, all day Saturday class at Lydiate L31 4HL Second Saturday of each month. 10am till 3.3opm. Fee £28

This class is designed for absolute beginners who cannot make the all day Saturday class at Lydiate. Though I teach this class, the booking is done through Dot-Art. Contact me for more details on this class.
